Mr Beast net worth: The eye-watering amount the YouTuber is worth amidst controversy

He’s predicted to be the first YouTuber billionaire

Mr Beast has been embroiled in controversy recently after his former co-host Ava Kris Tyson was accused of sending inappropriate messages to a minor when she was 20 and the victim was reportedly 13. Mr Beast released a statement where he said he was “disgusted and opposed to such unacceptable acts”. :

He said: “Over the last few days, I’ve become aware of the serious allegations of Ava Tyson’s behaviour online and I am disgusted and opposed to such unacceptable acts. During that time, I have been focused on hiring an independent third party to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure I have all the facts.

“That said, I’ve seen enough online and taken immediate action to remove Ava from the company, my channel, and any association with MrBeast. I do not condone or support any of the inappropriate actions. I will allow the independent investigators the necessary time to conduct a comprehensive investigation and will take any further actions based on their findings.”

However, amidst his controversy and given that he currently has 307 million subscribers on YouTube, how much money does Mr Beast have?

Well, we know that Mr Beast, or Jimmy Donaldson, does a lot of charity work and philanthropy on his channels, including giving a homeless person $10,000, and funding cataract surgeries for 1,000 blind people. In his most-viral video with more than 424 million views, he recreated the Netflix series Squid Game to give one winner the chance to win $456,000. Obviously no one died in his version. He then claims the revenue he makes from these video is used for more charitable causes.

But what is Mr Beast’s net worth?

According to an estimate by Forbes, Mr Beast’s net worth is currently $500 million, or over £389 million. Imagine!! In fact, Forbed predicted him to be the first YouTuber billionaire. In 2022 alone, Mr Beast earned $54 million, including $32 million from ads across his dozen-plus channels and $9 million from sponsored content.

“Each video does a couple million in ad revenue, a couple million in brand deals,” he told Time Magazine earlier this year, which noted that brands pay between $2.5 million to $3 million for a shout-out in a video.

But he said that money doesn’t go straight into his bank account, he says, and he doesn’t have access to it. “I don’t have access to any of my bank accounts,” he said. “I have a CFO and everything, but my mom is the one who has access to the master bank account.” Cute.

Instead, the income goes back into growing his channel and audience. “I’ve reinvested everything to the point of, you could claim, stupidity, just believing that we would succeed,” he said. “And it’s worked out.”

Part of the investment involves sparing no expense on his huge stunts such as buying a grocery store and paying a contestant $10,000 each day he is able to live in it.

But he’s still loaded. The YouTuber has a personal chef and a trainer, according to Time, and he lives in a 3,000 square-foot-home that he purchased for $320,000 in 2018, according to the New York Post.

“I’m not naïve; maybe one day,” he said of being rich. “But right now, whatever we make, we reinvest.”
