Prince William continues to grow out his facial hair after ditching his clean-shaven look in August. See a photo of his salt-and-peppery beard.
The heir is growing out his facial hair.
One month after ditching his signature clean-shaven look, Prince William continued to rock his rough and rugged beard when he stepped out to represent his dad King Charles III during the Sovereign’s Parade at the Royal Air Force College in Cranwell, England, Sept. 12.
Along with his salt-and-peppery stubble, the Prince of Wales wore his Wing Commander’s uniform and many honorary medals, as well as the star and sash of the Order of the Garter.
And William’s connection to the airbase where the parade was held spans back decades. After all, it was at the same college where he earned his wings back in 2008, when he and now-wife Kate Middleton were still dating.
“I am delighted to see so many family and friends here,” he told the crowd, per People. “Whilst I didn’t graduate on this exact Parade Ground, I did graduate from flying training here so I know something about the celebrations that will come later, so I promise I’ll only take a few minutes of your time!”
The outing comes three days after Kate—who William married in 2011—shared that she had finished chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.
“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” the Princess of Wales—who shares kids Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, with William—said in a Sept. 9 video message. “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”
Kate added, “Out of darkness can come light, so let that light shine bright.”
But her health journey is not over yet. As William noted while meeting South Wales residents Sept. 10, per The Sun, “It’s good news, but there is still a long way to go.”
Still, Kate knows she can always lean on William.
“It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family,” she said in a March video message, while sharing news of her cancer diagnosis. “Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance.”
